James will post a lot here
A couple life drawings from class and the bistro today. I just bought a new ball point pen, so maybe that will make me more aware of line quality (as you can see it is terrible!). These life studies are quick since every one moves all the time and I'm still pretty timid about drawing in public, especially when people spot me drawing them. I've had several dirty looks so far!

hey james =D i think u should lift as less as u need/can your pen, when when u drawing also think about the silhouette, see exemples of great artist working the same way, like james jean. keep up the good work - Call0ps
Interesting that you brought up James Jean as he is the main reason I went out and bought a new ball point pen. I just found his site last Monday when a class mate told me that some of my stuff reminded him of James Jean. Funny he made that connection because James Jean is like a million times better than me! But yeah, I was trying to go for that nice line, but as you can see, it's quite unconfident right now and it's definitely something I will work to get better at.
